Interviews

During the filming of the EPK for the feature film “The Disappeared” it fell to me to direct and produce all cast and crew interviews. I consulted with the Director and Producer about questions and concepts for the final documentary/DVD and once we agreed a strategy I proceeded to arrange access to all the principle cast and crew members on set and during post production in soho.

The Disappeared was a low budget british film and as a result I had to work on an incredibly tight budget. I took the approach that as a film devotee myself we would cover all aspects required to promote and sell the film but also open up as a discussion about cinema and film itself. This made the contributors relax and open up as they no longer felt that they were responsible for just promoting the film itself.

As I was recording sound, filming and responsible for getting what we required on a few of the interviews I brought in Lucy Bennett and Tamsin Courno to be the principle interviewer and this enabled me to take an over view of what we were achieving whilst keeping one eye on the shot and one ear on the sound levels.

We interviewed Alex Jennings, Greg Wise, Tom Felton, Harry Treadaway, Bronson Webb, Ross, Leeming, Ilan Eshkeri (composer), Celia Haining (Editor), Diego Rodriguez (Cinematographer) and Johnny Kevorkian (Director, producer, script).

In a corporate capacity I have also been responsible for directing and producing interviews for Medical DVD’s (as well as endless consumer vox pops). This requires a delicate balance between the legal aspects of compliance in the medical world and the delicate situation of discussing the personal stories of patients suffering form terminal conditions.

I thoroughly enjoy interviewing people and helping them tell their side of the story. Please get in touch if you think I can help.
